Joshua Andran

Joshua’s primary area of practice is in civil and criminal litigation.
He has successfully represented clients from the Magistrate Court to the Federal Court and has in recent years:

  1. Represented clients in insider trading and other related offences under the Securities Industry Act 1983 and Capital Markets and Services Act 2007;
  2. Represented a non-governmental organisation in lawsuits against the Federal Government, Minister of Home Affairs and Director General of the National Registration Department in a constitutional matter seeking declarations relating to citizenship; and
  3. Advised a foreign government on, among others, negligence, conspiracy to injure, criminal law, preventive detention, immigration law and extradition law in relation to lawsuits faced by the foreign government agencies and their executive officers.

Aaron Yong

Aaron is the head of the firm’s corporate division and has considerable experience in corporate advisory work, capital markets, domestic and cross-borders mergers and acquisitions and transactions involving venture capital and private equity.

Some of Aaron’s recent notable engagements include:

  1. advising an Austrian multinational integrated oil, gas and petrochemical company in the acquisition of shares worth over RM3 billion
  2. advising on several successful initial public offerings on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange; and
  3. advising on the issuance of Islamic perpetual notes pursuant to a Sukuk Musharakah Programme of RM2 billion by a public listed company

Tan Choon Keet

Choon Keet heads the firm’s Intellectual Property Department and Real Estate Department. His varied interest has seen him representing clients in various industries including manufacturing, property development, trading, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, sports and retail. Choon Keet is also a registered Trade Mark Agent and has attended to over 1,000 Trade Mark registrations.

Some of Choon Keet’s recent notable engagements include:

  1. representing a leading bubble tea brand in Malaysia in a trade mark and passing off dispute;
  2. advising on anti-counterfeiting enforcement action as well as leading the execution of Anton Piller orders; and
  3. advising a local financial institution on the disbursement of a loan exceeding RM250 million.
