Sale, purchase or loan legal fee estimate

Enter the transaction value to estimate professional fees using a tiered scale. For complex, urgent or negotiated matters, the final fee may differ.

Professional fee estimate
Working assumption: first RM500,000 at 1.25%; next RM7,000,000 at 1%; amounts above RM7,500,000 shown at 1% as an estimate. Excludes SST and disbursements.

Transfer stamp duty estimate

For transfer instruments, use the property price or market value, whichever is higher.

Ad valorem duty
Working assumption: 1% on first RM100,000; 2% on next RM400,000; 3% on next RM500,000; 4% on the amount above RM1,000,000.

Loan stamp duty estimate

Estimate stamp duty for a loan or financing instrument based on the approved facility amount.

Loan instrument
Working assumption: 0.5% of the loan or financing amount. Excludes facility-specific charges, security documents, registration fees and disbursements.

Tenancy legal fee estimate

Estimate professional fees for preparing or reviewing a tenancy agreement. The final fee depends on scope, negotiations and document complexity.

Scope-based estimate
Working assumption: standard estimate is one-half month rent, subject to a RM500 minimum. Higher-complexity estimate is one month rent, subject to a RM800 minimum. This is not a statutory scale.

Tenancy stamp duty estimate

Estimate stamp duty for a Malaysian tenancy agreement based on monthly rent and tenancy period.

Tenancy instrument
Working assumption: annual rent less RM2,400, then duty per RM250 or part: RM1 for up to 1 year, RM2 for more than 1 year up to 3 years, and RM4 for more than 3 years. Additional copies estimated at RM10 each.
